The magazine "Energie und Management (E&M)" has nominated the natural gas CHP plant at Fraunhofer IISB as "CHP unit of the month". In the E&M issue 11-12 of June 15, 2020, the "Zeitung für den Energiemarkt" reports about the intelligent load management with CHP, battery and heat storage at the IISB. Within the project SEEDsHomepage SEEDs the institute has developed and successfully validated a platform for simulation and control of sector-coupled energy systems "ToSyCo (TotalSystemControl)". Using the intelligent operation strategies from ToSyCo for the real laboratory IISB, savings potentials in the costs of electrical energy of 25 % in terms of the service price and 6.5 % in respect of the working price were demonstrated, can be proven, to which CHP unit and battery play an essential role.
